Three Liverpool stars fall prey to Sancho's trickery.

Three Liverpool stars fall prey to Sancho's trickery.

Manchester United

Jadon Sancho's 1-2 loss to Manchester United early on Tuesday (23/8) morning at Old Trafford claimed at least three Liverpool stars.

With their first victory following two straight losses to Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester United is emerging from a rut that plagued them at the beginning of the season.

On the third matchday, which was played at home, MU defeated Liverpool, a team that many people had picked to win the Premier League this year.

Marcus Rashford's goal in the 53rd minute and goals from Jadon Sancho in the 16th minute were plenty for Man Utd to earn their first three points of the year. Because Mohamed Salah's goal in the 81st minute is the only way Liverpool can respond.

This time, Man United played admirably. Erik ten Hag's team placed good pressure on Liverpool thanks to a strong defense and adaptable midfield.

Sancho's goal, which Anthony Elanga assisted on, was one of the outcomes of the Man Utd assault. It's interesting to note that Sancho, with his talent, made three Liverpool stars a victim before the ball was sent into the goal.

1. James Milner

In reality, Sancho's catch of the ball from Elanga was less than ideal. Sancho had to turn his body first to face Alisson Becker's goal due to the poor ball at the foot.

Fortunately, the Liverpool players' guard was lax, which allowed Sancho to be in a prime shooting position. Miller attempted to slide into the pitch to prevent the kick of the 22-year-old Sancho as he was about to shoot, but Sancho was able to deceive Miller.

Sancho, though, decided to slightly drag the ball and alter his kicking position. This circumstance puts Milner in an impasse.

2. Alisson Becker

Sancho's action, which slightly pulled the ball to limit his right-footed shot, similarly deceived Alisson to Milner.

Alisson initially shifted to the left in preparation for the ball because he thought Sancho would kick with his right foot.

Alisson's movement to the left, regrettably, created a gap on the right side of the goal mouth. Sancho positioned the ball in the Liverpool goal's bottom right corner with his right foot. Alisson tried to get to the ball but was unable.

3. Virgil van Dijk

The player who is most in the spotlight as a result of Sancho's goal is Van Dijk. The reason is that Van Dijk, who is in front of Alisson and behind Milner, just looks at Sancho to take advantage of the situation.

Van Dijk did not block Sancho's shooting space by placing his hands behind his waist. The Dutch defender was made fun of by the crowd because of his attitude. Van Dijk was also upset with Milner for keeping his distance from Sancho.
