To slow the spread of the corona virus, the Indonesian government is still enforcing limitations on communal activities (PPKM).

PPKM is still in effect in the Java-Bali region until August 15. It is still valid outside of Java-Bali until September 5.

By demanding a booster shot or a third dose, the Indonesian government has also tightened restrictions on neighborhood activities. The third dose must have been received by travelers, or they must first undergo a swab test.

The peak of corona virus transmission is still expected to occur at the end of August, according to a recent statement from the Ministry of Health.

Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, Director General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Ministry of Health, stated that the Omicron BA.4, BA.5, and BA.2.75 subvariants in Indonesia differ from those in a number of other countries, which is why there is uncertainty regarding the projected peak of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia.

In an audio recording that was received on Friday (12/8) Maxi stated, "In fact, if we follow Omicron BA.4 BA.5, the trend in South Africa is determined to be tens of thousands of instances [per day] but we do not follow that pattern."
